        • Tony Keating // SSP UK // CEO

          Tony graduated from Manchester’s Hollings College with a degree in Hotel and Catering Management in 1982 and joined British Rail’s Catering operation, Travellers fare, as a Management Trainee. He took on various roles within Travellers Fare, principally in operations and marketing before becoming Chief Executive of the business in 2000. Today, Tony is responsible for SSP’s UK operations of over 700 units including the Airports and Railway station businesses; the Millie’s Cookies retail chain as well as Rail Gourmet, which focuses on “onboard” train catering and logistics in UK and Europe.

        • Elaine Stewart // Atos Origin // Transport Market Director

          Elaine Stewart leads the transport market for Atos Origin UK. She joined the team in January 2009 to drive growth through new ways of working with customers in the public and private sector. With the transport team her focus is on either helping customers make or save money. Prior to this Elaine has spent all of her career building high performance teams that put the customer at the heart of everything they do. She has delivered global programmes for customers in Financial Services, Retail and Technology sectors always helping them achieve their objectives Elaine has an MBA which majored on innovation and creativity.

        • Erik Holland // UKTI // International Trade Advisor

          Eric leads on the Railway Sector for UK Trade & Investment in Yorkshire, assisting companies in developing their potential in overseas markets. In recent years he has worked at railway exhibitions in Europe, Asia, Australia and UAE, plus US High Speed Rail conferences. His focus this year is opportunities in North America and Australia. Earlier in 2011 he received a prestigious UKTI award for Individual Excellence for his work in the Rail sector.

        • Gavin McMurray // Merson Signs // Sales & Marketing Director

          With 28 years experience in the sign industry, including over 15 years working on major international rail and aviation projects, Gavin has extensive knowledge of what’s required to deliver effective wayfinding signage for passenger terminals. Director at Merson Signs, his strategic input into major projects at the early stages has significant bearing on the final nature and shape of any rail project and how it is best delivered.

        • Hiro Aso // John McAslan + Partners // Director of Transport & Infrastructure

          With over 10 years’ experience on major transportation projects; Hiro is well known to key planning and transportation stakeholders. He led the design team for King’s Cross Station redevelopment and is currently leading John McAslan + Partners’ Crossrail Bond Street Station team. As Director of Transport and Infrastructure at JMP, he manages design coordination across Urban Infrastructure projects, and oversees project and design management of key commissions.

        • Julian Maynard // Architect // Maynard Design

          Julian trained in industrial Design at Manchester Metropolitan University and the Royal College of Art in London. After qualification he joined Nicholas Grimshaw & Partners to work as Project Industrial Designer on Waterloo International Terminal, designing a range of architectural components. In 1994, he was recruited by Roland Paoletti as, as Lead Industrial Designer for the Jubilee Line Extension. For the Crossrail project, Julian is Principle Designer for the Atkins/Grimshaw/GIA Equation team on the C100 Architectural Components Contract.

        • Julie Ryan // First Capital Connect // Head of Marketing & Sales

          Julie has been in the rail industry since 1975, with a range of roles including Account Management and sales in Red Star, InterCity and ATOC. She then moved to The Trainline from 2001 to 2006 where she was a Business Manager responsible for all the white label rail companies who retailed through Trainline, including Virgin Trains, GNER and First Group. Since 2006 Julie has been with First Group at First Capital Connect, firstly as Sales Manager, but since earlier in 2011 as Head of Marketing and Sales.

        • Tony Lacy // Atos Origin // General Manager, Transport Portfolio

          Tony has over 30 years of experience working within the Transport Sector. During this time he has been involved in many key Transport industry projects including QuickFare, Tribute, AVANTIX MultiTicket, AVANTIX Mobile, Transport Direct, Lennon and most recently Atos Origin’s web retailing solution Webtis. He has worked in senior roles within Sema Group, Schlumberger and the commercial side of the UK rail industry. He is a very positive supporter of integrated transport within the UK and has maintained strong relationships with the industry through the solutions and services that Atos Origin provide today. In his current role at Atos Origin he is responsible for delivery of its Transport services to UK customers and determining the overall strategic direction of the business.

      • I am proud to bring such a fantastic team together to develop the growing potential of “The Future of Station Design”. The support of the committee has enabled conference and its ancillary events to grow in stature and reputation. In 2011 we will continue to strive to make all delegates part of the project and help UK railway stations realise their potential.
